Happiness Redefined … Five Qualities and Ten Questions

Contentment

“Happiness?

It is an illusion to think that more comfort means more happiness.

Happiness comes of the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply, to think freely, to risk life, to be needed.”

Storm Jameson

Operative words here include “deeply”, “simply”, “freely”, “risk”, and “needed”.  Here’s some questions to help you determine where you are at about all this:

DEEP FEELING

How do you experience deep emotion?

Are you more comfortable with strong emotion or do you prefer a lighter existence?

SIMPLE ENJOYMENT

What are the simplest things that provide enjoyment to you?

What are the small and transient joys in your life?

FREE THINKING

How do you challenge your perspectives and worldview.

How comfortable are you with ambiguity and change?

RISK-TAKING

Are you a “Bird in the Hand” or “Two in the Bush” kind of person?

Do you prefer the possible or the certain?

BEING NEEDED

How comfortable are you with being needed by someone else?

How comfortable are you admitting you need to be needed?

Take your time formulating your responses … no rush.

Relaxing while I ponder my own questions in the Heartland ….
