We Assume that People Who Speak Abstractly Are Powerful – via Andrew O’Connell – Harvard Business Review

Tell me again how your choice of words doesn’t matter …

We Assume that People Who Speak Abstractly Are Powerful – Andrew O’Connell – Harvard Business Review.

This is more than just choosing phrases which others perceive to be more powerful, as the link above notes. The words and phrases we choose determine three important things:

    1)  The value of our message to others based on their perception

    2)  The strength of our self-perception regarding that message

    3)   What we communicate about our intended message and about ourselves
