Imagine my delight this morning when this popped up in my inbox …
To be in the top 5% is really something …
I will admit my professional pride took a little jump and I eagerly shared my good news with one and all … at least, one and all online:)
After I noticed that this was a celebration of LinkedIn achieving the milestone of 200 million members, I did the math.
I am in rarefied company… only around 10 million of us managed to scratch our way to the upper reaches of the business networking mountain.
One among ten million … it’s starting to feel just a tad crowded on top of that mountain and the cold breeze of reality is kicking up in my face.
To be in the top 5% of 200 million is really something else …
… or as my beloved wife succinctly framed it, “So what’s the actual value of this great honor?“
I’m still working on a response to that one.
Feeling a little less puffed up, but a little more analytic in the Heartland ….
