The word “Serendipity” was coined today in 1754 by Horace Walpole.
Serendipity refers to the positive coming together of several things, at least loosely.
… and today we celebrate the life of one historic African-American and inaugurate another to a second term as president of the United States.
Martin Luther King, Jr. and Barack Obama offer a neat juxtaposition of way back then and right now.
Whatever your politics, I think the word fits the day quite nicely.
